Hey, my name is Sam if you don’t already know me, and my family and I have unexpectedly had to put my darling cat Navi to sleep earlier today, following a fox attack on our doorstep. She was in immeasurable pain, and we felt this was the humane choice under the guidance of veterinary staff. Navi passed peacefully, and surrounded by love.
This fundraiser is a humble request to help me honour my sweet Navi, and to help cover the cost of her passing. Times are tough for us all, and unfortunately my family has felt the effects of the cost of living crisis. The cost of the vet visit as well as the cost of euthanasia, in this time of heartbreak, has stretched us thin. If you have anything to spare, a donation towards the euthanasia and cremation of Navi would mean the absolute world to me.
On my eleventh birthday, I was woken up by my parents to go and rescue a kitten, something I had been begging to do for as long as I could remember. Absolutely fizzing with excitement, I remember peering into each cage at the RSPCA, carefully selecting my new best mate. Navi wasn’t the first who caught my eye, but I was however caught by her tiny little claws reaching through the bars as I was walking past. I remember looking at the tiny little beast screaming at me with all her might, she has always had an attitude, and knowing that she was coming home with me.
I went into that shelter to rescue a cat, but the truth is that little cat rescued me. She was there for me in my hardest years, and I will never forget how she comforted me through all 12 years, and how she constantly dribbled when she purred as hard as she could. I love her with all my heart, and I will remember her forever.
