Delmar- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved brother Patrick Dennis Manchin, who left us on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the age of 37. His loss leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Patrick was born on December 22, 1987, in Salisbury, Maryland, and raised in Delmar, Delaware where he made countless cherished memories with family and friends. In recent years, Patrick called Oklahoma home, where he worked as an executive assistant at the Ellis Clinic. Known for his dedication and friendly demeanor, he was affectionately nicknamed “the office teddy bear” and will be fondly remembered by his co-workers and patients alike.
Patrick had a rare ability to make people feel seen and heard. His sense of humor, deep compassion, creative mind, gentle kindness, and generous spirit were just a few of the qualities that made him unforgettable to those lucky enough to have known him. Whether he was sharing stories, telling jokes, offering a helping hand, or simply being present, Patrick made a lasting impact wherever he went. He was a one-of-a-kind soul who brought love & laughter to everyone around him.
Patrick had a passion for all things nerd related, gaming, cooking, expressing himself through art, cars, fishing, and spending time with his dog Tidus.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his sister Erica Sinthavong and her husband James, his brother David Hill, his brother Tyler Manchin and his wife Paige, his sister Hannah Manchin, and his sister Emily Bready and her husband Christopher. His nieces & nephews, Dillon, Oliver, Alexx, Kamryn, Dominic, Chance, Molly, Madisyn, Ibrahim, Sophia, Evelyn, Adeline, Amelia, a great niece Maliha, his work family at the Ellis Clinic, many extended family members and friends who will miss him more than words can express. He also leaves behind his loyal companion and best friend, his dog Tidus, who brought him joy every day and who never left his side.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sonya Maria Jones, his brother, Brandon Bennett, grandparents, Richard and Sylvia Malone, and great-grandmother, Agnes Daisey.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, DE with a visitation one hour prior to the service, where all who knew and loved Patrick are welcome to come together in remembrance of his life and to say a final goodbye. Entombment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Rev. Howard Travers will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to assist with funeral expenses. Donations may be made via fundraiser.
