Help Us Honor the Life and Legacy of Mr. Djossoua Oluwole
With deep sorrow and love, we share the passing of our beloved father, Mr. Djossoua Oluwole — a man of extraordinary integrity, sacrifice, and service.
Throughout his life, Mr. Oluwole dedicated himself to uplifting others. As a successful diplomat, he opened doors of opportunity not only for his children, all of whom he ensured received a college education through sheer sacrifice, but also for countless people across the African continent and beyond. He gave of himself selflessly, often depriving himself of life’s essentials so that others might thrive.
This year, our father’s health took a serious turn. Battling severe Rheumatoid Arthritis, he traveled to the United States on May 5, 2024, with the loving support of our sister, Adenike, who helped him secure a visa and sought to provide him the best possible care. Upon arrival, a full medical checkup revealed devastating news:
Stage 4 kidney disease, glaucoma, and cataracts—conditions far more advanced than anyone had known.
On June 4, Adenike rushed Dad to the emergency room as he struggled with uncontrollable back pain. Tragically, after hours of suffering and limited treatment, he passed away from cardiac arrest. The loss was sudden, and the grief has been
immeasurable.
Since his passing, we have been overwhelmed by messages from every corner—former colleagues, students, and countless friends who were touched by his wisdom, kindness, and enduring spirit. Across the African continent and among the diaspora, so many wish to honor the man who gave so much of himself for others.
It is now our heartfelt wish to give our father the dignified burial he so greatly deserves.
We want to bring together the many people he inspired for a final farewell that honors his life, values, and contributions. However, the cost of funeral arrangements and related expenses in the U.S. has become a burden beyond what we can carry alone.
We humbly ask for your help. Your contribution — no matter how small — will go directly toward providing a respectful and meaningful burial for our father. In doing so, you will help us honor his life and ensure that those he touched can say their goodbyes.
Please join us in celebrating a life of purpose, humility, and service.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, and generosity.
With gratitude,
The Oluwole Family
