Doris Miner passed away on Saturday June 7th, 2025.
Leaving behind her daughter, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family had always been told about the life insurance policy that was in place. Assuming this, nothing was ever further questioned. Assuming since Doris husband passed away in 1991 the family was always under the impression her own funeral arrangements were made.
Much to everyone’s surprise, this was in fact, not the case.
No arrangements were made.
No deposits were made.
No policy was in effect.
Leaving the kids to figure it all out themselves.
Age 72 of Kalamazoo passed away at her home Saturday morning, June 7, 2025. Doris was born in Kalamazoo on October 21, 1952, the daughter of Robert and Vivian (Taylor) Wentworth. She was married to George “Perry” Miner who preceded her in death in 1991. Doris worked for several years at Bronson Methodist Hospital as a Unit Clerk. She was an avid crossword puzzler and other word gamer. She loved TV game shows like Family Feud. She also liked “Everybody Loves Raymond.” In her younger years she enjoyed baking and she had a lot of recipes that she had collected. More than anything she loved her daughter, grandkids and great-grandkids. Doris is survived by her daughter Amy Miner; grandchildren, Skylar Miner, Ty (Shea) Miner, Ashjahnae “Louis” Jones; great-grandchildren, Zayden, Adrian, Gianna; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Besides her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Phillip Wentworth, Joseph Wentworth and Leon Wentworth; sister, Marjorie McComis.
We are seeing any financial help with the costs of cremation, the sexton costs and help with the monument engraving. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciate more then you know to help the kids navigate through this difficult time.
Or direct donations can be made to the funeral home Joldersma & Klein [phone redacted]
Thank you.
