Tom Heady was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend who touched many lives in both Newton, Illinois and Garden City, Kansas. After growing up on the family farm, Tom moved to Garden City, where he met and married his wife. Together, they raised their family in Illinois before Tom later returned to Garden City to be closer to family. He eventually retired from farming and worked for Garden City Public Schools, always finding ways to support his community and family.
Tom faced numerous health challenges in recent years, leading to several hospital stays and time in intensive care. Despite his strength and determination, he passed away recently, leaving his loved ones heartbroken. Tom did not have life insurance, and his family is now left to manage his medical and funeral expenses. The costs from his hospital care and the funeral have created a challenge during an already devastating time.
Tom loved his horses and dogs, and his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He was known for his kindness, his dedication to family, and his deep connection to the land and animals he cared for. This fundraiser is to help cover Tom’s medical bills and the funeral expenses that have already been incurred. Any support is deeply appreciated as Kari and the family navigate this difficult time.
